Your 2019 Guide to the Disneyland Resort Family Fun

in Guest Post on 02/10/18

It’s no surprise that 2018 at the Disneyland Resort was one to remember. With Pixar Fest, the grand-opening of Pixar Pier and holiday celebrations bigger than ever before, it’s safe to say that we’ve experienced a lot of magic. If you thought that things couldn’t get better – just you wait. 2019 is going to be one of the biggest years that the Disneyland Resort has ever seen. Because of this, I’ve teamed up with my friends at Get Away Today to fill you in on everything you can experience at the Happiest Place on Earth next year.

Mid-January to mid-February – Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year has become a fan-favorite although it hasn’t officially been confirmed for 2019. Here, you can ring in the Lunar New Year with friends like Mulan and Mushu as you enjoy culturally inspired food, décor, crafts and more! Plus, you can see some of your favorite Disney characters dressed in traditional attire and watch exclusive entertainment in Disney California Adventure Park. Last year, guests were able to enjoy “Hurry Home”, a nighttime water spectacular at Paradise Bay. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll bring it back in 2019 too!

End of February to mid-March – Food and Wine Festival

The Food and Wine Festival has stolen the hearts (and taste buds) of guests everywhere year after year. Not only do you get to indulge in a variety of delicious food and beverages, but you can also check out demonstrations and seminars from world-renowned chefs. If you consider yourself a foodie, you’ll want to check this out. The best treats and eats that California has to offer at the Food and Wine Festival is in Disney California Adventure Park.

Summer of 2019 – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

If you haven’t heard, a little thing called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is coming to the Disneyland Resort summer of 2019. Star Wars fandom is one of the biggest in the world, but this new land is sure to be “out of this world”. While there isn’t an official opening date quite yet, we know: there will be two brand-new attractions, areas to explore and interactive features around every corner. We can hardly wait to discover Batuu!

Mid-September to end of October – Halloween Time

Of course, the spookiest time of the year will be returning in 2019. Here, you can experience seasonal ride overlays like: Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Haunted Mansion Holiday. And in Disney’s California adventure: Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard Jam-BOO-Ree and Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark. Plus, you’ll be able to see some of your favorite Disney characters (and villains) dressed up in ghoulish garb!

If you’re looking for a frightfully fun time, purchase tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party. This separate ticketed event allows guests to enjoy exclusive entertainment, character meet and greets and trick-or-treating throughout the park. Watch the Disneyland website for ticket release dates.

Mid-November to beginning of January – Holidays at the Disneyland Resort

If you want to see the Disneyland Resort during the most wonderful time of the year, visit in mid-November through the beginning of January. Like Halloween, the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is filled with delicious treats, festive décor and themed ride-overlays. Plus, guests can enjoy entertainment like the Christmas Fantasy Parade, Festival of Holidays and “Believe… In Holiday Magic” Fireworks. This time of year is filled with joy, laughter and fun for the entire family.

Other Happenings:

In addition to all of the celebrations, guests can also expect to see new attractions in Disney California Adventure Park. Jessie’s Critter Carousel and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will make their way to Pixar Pier sometime in 2019. When we find out the official date, we’ll be sure to let you know!

Disneyland Resort is celebrate 90 years of Mickey Mouse with the “World’s Biggest Mouse Party” in 2019. Celebrations start on November 18, 2018 in honor of the first Steamboat Willie film and continue into the next year. While we don’t know all of the details for this event, we know there will be commemorative merchandise, treats, photo locations and more.

Plus, D23 just released their 2019 dates! From August 23-25, 2019, Disney fans can learn about what’s new and what’s on the horizon from Disney theme parks, television, music, products and films. It’s an event that ultimate Disney fans won’t want to miss!

Lots of Magic planned for 2019

As you can see, 2019 at the Disneyland Resort is going to be filled with more magic than ever before. Because of this, we’d recommend planning your 2019 vacation as soon as possible. Hotel availability is sure to sell out and ticket prices tend to go up year after year. Luckily, you can take advantage of Get Away Today’s Layaway Plan. With 2020 coming to an end, we can all relate to how tough this year has been. However, the initial tendency as a parent might be to overspend in an effort to compensate for whatever did or didn't happen in 2020. ⁣
⁣
LET ME GIVE YOU THIS REASSURANCE, MOMMAS- it is NOT necessary to buy more during the holidays in order to compensate for whatever you feel your children lacked this year. ❤ ⁣

This year has blessed us with the specific opportunity to tune in and be more mindful of those you love, just like our Savior does for us. So take this time to BE more present instead of spending extra cash on gifts. We promise it will be absolutely worth it. ⁣

Today I’ve felt anxious. I know i’m not the on Today I’ve felt anxious. I know i’m not the only one feeling this way with the impending presidential announcement... so how do we handle feeling off, anxious or depressed? One of the best things you can do -right this moment- give a hug. Cuddle close to a loved one and hold one another. Breathe deep. And hug for another breath. And hopefully you’ll slowly feel that anxiety release. And feel free to cuddle longer. 😘
