Happy New Year!! Part of my New Year’s resolution is making sure I fill my life with more positivity and less negativity! There are many different ways to find positivity. One easy, short, and sweet way I have found is watching TED talks. The TED Talk Organization is amazing at choosing awesome people to spread positive and uplifting messages. According to ted.com, “TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues.”
I was first introduced to the TED organization with a talk my mom suggested I watch by Brene Brown. Brene Brown is a very influential person in my life. She speaks and researches about vulnerability, authenticity, courage, and shame. Because of her amazing research, I have been able to better live my authentic life. Brene gained a massive following after her TED talk on: “The Power of Vulnerability.” In this talk she speaks on vulnerability and letting ourselves really be seen by others. Her talk is a MUST WATCH!
Why TED?
- The talks are short, sweet, and powerful.
- The talks cover a large variety of topics.
- Ted.com is FREE and easy to use.
- The TED organization has an App!
Along with Brene, there are amazing talks by others. Some include: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie “The Danger of a Single Story” (one of my very favorites!!),Tony Robbins “Why We Do What We Do,” Ken Robinson “Do Schools Kill Creativity” and many more.
Even if you only listen to one, try it out. Once you start, it’s hard to stop coming back for more inspiration.
xoxo,
Jordyn
