A Little Back Story
In nine years, our marriage in our relationship has grown tremendously. We are still learning to better understand and communicate with each other, rely on one another, parent on the same page, and love more deeply than we have ever been able to before.
What is our trick?
That’s an easy one – education and support.
These two things have taken our relationship to the next level. Like I mentioned earlier, this article is all about the apps we’ve used to strengthen our relationship and build a happier marriage, but keep in mind that there is so much more that goes into having a happy successful marriage than a few apps on your phone. Education and support are just two of the main building blocks of our growing relationship. As couples grow close, those building blocks will continue to grow as well.
Marriage 101: Get Your Marriage On! App
This is HANDS DOWN the coolest marriage app I have ever seen. (And I’ve checked out a lot of them!) The Get Your Marriage On! App is an all-encompassing, knowledge-packed, highly entertaining app that will seriously kick your relationship up a few notches. There are so many tools to guide you and your spouse through essential communication strategies (which is something my hubby and I are always in need of) and SO much more!
The app is set up with individual video modules. Each module helps you learn how to make the core parts of your relationship better. Through the app, you can take a deep dive into topics like communication, love languages, sex and intimacy, resolving conflicts, and understanding spousal differences. The videos are really entertaining and include research-based therapeutic techniques to effectively help you create the marriage you’ve always longed for.

One of our favorite features about the Get Your Marriage On! App is the ability you have to sync your app with your spouse. When you sync your apps together, you can see each other’s goals, lists, vision boards and tons more. It also allows you unlimited access to their extensive library of resources. These features do require the paid premium version of the app, but at only $2.99/month per couple ($39.99 annually) it is honestly worth every single penny! You can download it on Apple or Android.
Finances for Couples: The Honeydue App
Honeydue is one of the best most intuitive finance apps for couples. And it is FREE! *Cue bonus happy dance.* My husband and I, like most couples, are guilty of arguing over finances from time to time. The Honeydue app is the tool to help us sort things out and create transparency and simplicity between us.
Like many other personal finance/budgeting apps, you can link all your financial accounts with Honeydue. This includes personal and business bank accounts, loans, credit cards, savings and investment accounts – everything. Honeydue supports over 20,000 financial institutions over five different countries. Pretty cool, right?
One of our favorite features of Honeydue is the way we can set our budget for all our custom spending categories. You can track every single transaction through all the accounts you sync without having to log in to all those accounts individually. This is a brilliant time-saver for us! You can also set budget reminders for specific bill due dates or even to remind you when you are within a certain amount of your spending goal for the month. I personally love being able to see everything neatly organized where I can track everything in real-time, too.
The app also gives you the capability of chatting with your partner about certain transactions or anything else related to your accounts. (You can even send your spouse an encouraging heart emoji or thumbs up for staying within your budget, which is a nice little pat on the back. ;)) It’s all about the little things, am I right?
Basically, Honeydue keeps us on track and it does it beautifully- for FREE.
Parenting, the Positive Way – Amy McCready’s Positive Parenting Solutions App
OK, so… Parenting with another person, who is your complete opposite, definitely has its challenges. Amy McCready’s Positive Parenting Solutions program has been an absolute lifesaver – both for us as a couple and for our kids. And just a little disclaimer – if you are ready for an eye-opening experience, I have never ever learned more about myself as a parent than with this single program. You have been warned…
We started using the PPS program when our oldest was about two and a half years old. Now, she is seven, and we have two other kiddos who have different personalities, likes, dislikes, and handle situations in completely different ways. PPS taught my husband and me how to parent as one. It brought our parenting styles together in the best way and helped us realize how our styles were affecting our kids (and each other) both positively and negatively. Now, the initial process was a little unnerving and took us a bit by surprise, but I couldn’t be more grateful for the information I’ve gained about myself and my husband.
Getting into the app itself:
It is an extension of the online program that does require a paid membership. (Though you can check out the free webinar here – it is awesome!) With that said, I cannot recommend a parenting tool more highly and here’s why –
In short, Positive Parenting Solutions became our way of interacting with our kids that encourages healthy communication and boundaries. It promotes honesty, self-sufficiency, belonging, significance, responsibility, and strengthens our relationship with our kids on a daily basis. It also shows my husband and me how our parenting styles are complementary to each other and where we might be able to improve with our communication or parenting strategy.
Within the app, you can:

Give your Relationship the Love it Deserves- Ultimate Intimacy App
Every marriage deserves love and emotional/physical intimacy between spouses. This app is the perfect companion to encouraging a healthy sexual relationship between married couples. It has several different sections and resources and is designed perfectly to help couples take their relationship and intimacy goals to a whole new level.
One of our favorite parts of this app is that all the content is clean, Christian-friendly, and completely respectful. It does go into detail, but you don’t have to worry about any overly-explicit, raunchy or graphic content. With that said, there are so many cool features of this app!
The Ultimate Intimacy app has some great conversation starters on tons of topics like marriage and intimacy (obviously haha), finance, family, spiritual and other topics to help couples get to know each other better.
The main features of The Ultimate intimacy app include:
- An intimacy game with multiple romantic levels.
- A resource section full of articles, techniques, and ideas to strengthen the physical and emotional intimacy in your marriage.
- The Language of Love quiz (but we prefer to use the one in the Get Your Marriage On! Or LoveNudge apps)
- An Intimate Extras section where you can create your intimate bucket lists, send sexy texts or invites to your spouse, and even take things up a notch with their Fantasy Escapes soundtracks.
