Six Tips for Shopping on Wish.com

in Our Favorites, What's Working Wednesday on 05/02/19

When I first heard about Wish.com I was a little skeptical. Products at rock-bottom prices that I see on the high end shop-websites?? After making a few orders on Wish.com there are a few things I have learned. I’ve had a few friends ask me how I order from Wish so I decided to share my tips with my faves:

1. Make sure to use coupons codes, especially on your first order!

I got 50% off my first order, which save me A LOT! After the first order, the coupons aren’t as good, but always search for existing customer coupons and you’ll at least get 10% off. Feel free to use my referral code that will get you 10-50% off your order —>> Referral Code: jmgvddx

2. ALWAYS read the reviews.

I live by the product reviews on this website. There is a section that tells you if the sizing is typically “too small,” “just right,” or “too big.” This is how I determine what size to buy. Sometimes the clothes are in Asian sizing so it’s helpful to know if you need to size up in order to avoid popping a seam! The picture above was all perfect sizing due to reading reviews. My bomber jacket was $6.80 + $4 shipping ($10.80 total), My shirt was $1.70 + $1 shipping ($2.70 total…say whaaa?!!), and my pants were $5.10 + $3 ($8.10 total). So overall, my outfit cost $21.60! I usually spend that much on one item so I was happy with this outcome of multiple items.

shopping

3. Always check the “shipping information”.

There is a section that includes the shipping information for the product. In this section it will tell you how much shipping costs and how long the expected delivery will be. This is super important because you could find a product for $3 and the shipping will be $9 so it’s not really worth it. You can also determine how long you will be waiting for the product. Another helpful part of the product reviews are that a lot of people will write if shipping was faster or slower than expected.

shopping

4. You win some you lose some

I have had mostly positive outcomes with my products, but there were a few duds. I ordered the sweater below because the pictures were SO cute and everyone raved about how soft the material is. Well, they weren’t wrong about the softness, but the color I ordered looked waaay different in the picture compared to what actually arrived on my doorstep. The color I ordered was supposed to be a coral-y color, but the product came in a bubble gum pink color. Honestly, I’m totally still wearing this around the house, but probably not in public (who knows, it may make an appearance at a school drop off).

5. Buy with other shoppers.

On most items, there is the option to buy with other shoppers. If you buy with someone else, the price is cheaper. Sometimes there is no one else to buy with, but you will get the option to purchase it at regular price and be credited to your account if someone else buys it with you within a few days. This feature has saved me quite a bit overall.

shopping

6. There are more products on Wish than just grown-up clothes.

I have bought quite a few clothes for myself, but I have also bought quite a few outfits for my kids. The outfit on my little girl below came with the long shirt and leggings for $4.80 + $3 shipping, so $7.80 total for a top and bottoms. Along with kids clothes, I also bought a baby doll stroller, a spider-man shooter, a My Little Pony necklace, and some baby proofing drawer locks. Make sure to dig around on products you wouldn’t expect- Wish probably has it.

Overall, I am mostly satisfied with the products I’ve ordered from Wish.com. Like I mentioned, I’ve had a couple duds, but a lot of the shops offer returns for thirty days.  I must say- I am a bit addicted.  I love shopping! Wish makes my shopping guilt lessen when I see the charges in my bank account (phew).

If you want to save up to 50% make sure to use my referral code: jmgvddx

I’ve had a few issues with items on Wish, and they refunded me immediately on everything. I order from Wish about every week. Suffice it to say I’m addicted! ?

Yass!! I’m glad I’m not the only one!!I have been lazy with returning things, but it’s good to know they refund so well!!

Buying with somebody actually is not cheaper! before you click on it, look at how much the shipping cost! say the item is $13 and the shipping cost $3 but if you buy with somebody it costs $11 then you add it to your cart and the shipping all of the sudden moves up to $5 so they are still getting the same amount of money.

I just noticed this TODAY, Lovemyhubby, and found your comment by googling to confirm what I was seeing. YEP, buying with someone appears to increase the shipping costs!

You are right. That math definitely does not add up. It’s good to know so we can all watch out for price jumps. Thanks for the comment!

I’m still confused on buy with other shoppers? How do you share the item? How does it work other than getting it cheaper? Do we both or all get the item? Doenst make sense to me? Thanks!

    • AvatarJordyn Ross says

      June 19, 2018 at 1:51 pm

You don’t share the item. Basically, if you buy with someone or if they buy with you, you both get it for cheaper. I assume to encourage you to buy or they can offer it for cheaper the more they sell…

        August 3, 2018 at 3:26 pm

I bought an item with someone but seems as though I was the one that paid for both of us…does that supposed to happen?

        • AvatarJordyn Ross says

          February 13, 2019 at 8:46 pm

Whaaaa?? I’m pretty sure that is not supposed to happen! You should definitely contact customer service. Sorry that happened to you!

If they advertise something as free do they stick to that promise? I am a bit confused because I ordered what I thought was free but now I am confused. Anyway, I have asked them online about that now. I am a first-timer to this site. But I have heard excellent reviews. Thanks for your post. Liz

    • AvatarJacy says

      February 17, 2019 at 1:25 am

You basically have to pay a shipping nprive which is usually higher and would be able the same if you chose a similar product that wasn’t free.

How do you know which merchants are in what countries? I need to know if the merchant is in the USA, I can get the actual size or if they are overseas I have to go up about 2-3 sizes.

    • AvatarJordyn Ross says

      February 13, 2019 at 8:46 pm

A lot of the items come from China. I always read the reviews. People will let you know if it is true to size or if you need to size up.

How does shipping work with bulky things such as uv lamps things that are big ???

    • AvatarJordyn Ross says

      February 14, 2019 at 5:40 am

It all just depends on the seller. When you are looking for items it will show the price of the item. When you click on the item it will show the shipping price. Be careful because some items will be super cheap but have outrageous shipping. Just make sure to check both to get the best price.

Is shipping costs reduced if you buy multiple items?

    • AvatarTiffaynee says

      August 23, 2019 at 9:20 pm

Unfortunately not. With most orders, you pay per item for shipping, but it depends on the seller. Thanks for the questions! <3
