How the Tradition Began in Our Family
December 2007 was the first Christmas my sister in law, Jesi and I celebrated with the Dewey clan. On Christmas Eve Jesi presented each family member with their own Santa Boot with their name on it. At the time Jesi was a full-time student in a rigorous interior design program and also working. When Jesi passed out each of our hand-crafted boot I was in awe. Where did she find the time with final projects due that month to make eight boots? I was touched by the thoughtfulness of Jesi’s gift, impressed by the intricate production of each boot and excited for a new tradition to take form.
Growing up, Santa didn’t fill our stockings, but wooden shoes. So that Christmas I didn’t have a stocking and now I had a matching boot! Not just any boot, but a massive boot that fits allll sorts of things inside of it! Through the years, the tradition of the Santa Boot has continued in our family. As a new member joins, Jesi has made and sent another Santa Boot. My kids love seeing what Santa fills their boot- with the size there is endless possibilities.
When my kids were little the Santa Boot was filled with coloring books and supplies, play dough, Barbie dolls, hot wheels cars, lots of candy and an orange. Through the years Santa go smart and put breakfast items in the boot to hold the kids over while they open Christmas presents. The tradition of the Santa Boot has filled our hearts with joy and I’m personally excited to see this tradition spread to other families for other holidays too.
Starting a Tradition with Others
December 2017, Jesi opened The Santa Boot Company to share the Santa Boot tradition with other families. The product lit on fire with the expansion of other boots for other occasions and holidays! The list of the Boot products expand from Sports team colors, new baby boots and most recently- Easter Boots! Oh what fun to fill these boots for Easter with all of the Spring-time goodies the Easter Bunny might bring. If you need some ideas on what to put inside your Easter boot Mommy Convos has a solution here, or Jesi recently suggests five inexpensive items for Easter that would fit wonderfully inside the boot here.
If you’re not convinced to start a new family tradition with these Santa Boots-or Easter Boots I’m not sure what will. These boots are high quality, the lettering isn’t felt like the ones we have from years ago, but vinyl. Each boot is made with care and love personally by Jesi. With each boot purchased, a portion is donated to Operation Christmas Child a company that supplies needed gifts to children all over the world. So with each purchase you’re not only supporting The Santa Boot Company but making a contribution for other children in need.
