Behold, I have a delicious copycat recipe of Arby’s Mint Chocolate Swirl Shake… However, this is actually quite good for you! A healthy mint fudge shake? Yes, please!
As you may have noticed, St. Patrick’s Day is coming March 17th. So, you’ll notice delicious-looking mint shakes- all over the place! I used to LOVE Arby’s mint shakes, but I don’t like spending $3.59 and gaining 750 calories on a mint shake! My “skinny” version is equally delicious, super nutritious, and it’s cheap and easy to make! It’s less than half of the calories of Arby’s mint chocolate swirl shake: 350 calories and put to great use!!!

Servings |
|
- 1 frozen banana Freeze it in smaller chunks for easier blending
- 1 handful spinach (about 1.5 cups)
- 1 handful ice (about 8 cubes)
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil (3 drops is too strong, so be careful!)
- 2 tblsp hershey's fudge topping
- whipped cream totally optional! I don't think it needs it, but it's only a few calories, so why not?!

- Blend all ingredients except fudge and whipped cream in a blender til smooth. Swirl the fudge around your cup. Pour milkshake in your "swirled" cup, and be sure to get a little bit of fudge with each bite! So refreshing!!!
Only two words of caution, my friends: be very careful when dropping the mint essential oil (which is actually really good for digestion problems- I’ve experienced it!) …but it is strong! No more than 2 drops.
Secondly, you must use real fudge topping. The mint shake is okay on it’s own, but the fudge makes a big difference in the “deliciousness factor”. FYI, the peppermint does overpower the banana and spinach flavor (which isn’t hard to do). Spinach just gives the shake: an awesome smooth and creamy texture, the green color, and tons of nutrients!
I hope you enjoy this healthy mint fudge shake! Your bod will thank you for all the great antioxidants you’re feeding it. I’ve been giving it to my kids lately and really, besides the couple spoonfuls of chocolate, it’s all healthy! Thank you to Tiffany at Feel Great in Eight– I never would have thought to try bananas and mint together, but this adapted recipe has saved my sweet-tooth cravings at least a dozen times so far! I just noticed a drink recipe on her blog that helps reduce sugar cravings… Interesting..!
I would highly recommend using Doterra peppermint essential oil- the way they process their oils seems to be the best! I’ve bought oils from other companies, and I can tell a difference in the quality: it’s almost like other companies dilute their oil with alcohol or something- though it says 100% therapeutic-grade essential oil… Who knows, right? Anyway, the Daily Drop Society is a fun Facebook group for anyone wanting to know more about oils. Enjoy!
