As a mom of three kids, I rarely have a free hand. A few years ago, we found an awesome picnic blanket, the Picnic Time Blanket and we haven’t looked back since! After we got the blanket I wrote a post talking about how much the picnic blanket helped us during the summertime with play dates, splash pads, and park time. Click here to read that post. Now that we have had it for several years, we have more uses that I want to share. Below are my three favorite uses for our picnic blanket bag:
1. Sporting Events:
Both my older kids play soccer, which means practice and games. I couldn’t be more thrilled to carry the label “soccer mom” status and our picnic blanket has saved our butts…literally many times. We recently bought a quick sunshade from Costco that Morgan talks about here. It’s nice for those super sunny or windy/rainy days, but I love my picnic blanket along with the quick shade or by itself as it is super fast to put down and pick up. I also love the pocket in the front because we often end up with trash that I throw in the pocket to take to the garage can later.
2. Beach Time:
Our family has lived in Southern California for almost a year now. We live very close to the beach and are definitely frequent flyers at our nearby beach. I don’t think we have gone to the beach without the picnic blanket (I may have forgotten it once or twice, but it is almost always with us). Our blanket has had its fair share of sand and barefoot toes on it and it has held up amazingly. The top of the blanket is made with a sheer material so sand rolls off nicely. I love that I can throw the blanket bag on my shoulder or toss it in the bottom of the stroller. The blanket bag is light and easy to bring along with all of our million beach toys.
3. Park Time
As I wrote in my previous post, I love taking our Picnic Time blanket to the park. We go to the park a lot and there are many times that I love to just lay on the blanket in the sunshine while my kiddos run around. We also love to actually have a picnic on the blanket at the park. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a nice pocket in the front that I can put picnic items or leftover trash in to keep my hands as free as possible. The blanket is also pretty resistant to spills and food, but is really easy to wash as well!
As you can tell I continue to be a huge fan of this awesome “mom” blanket. It has come in handy at soccer games and practices, the beach and for park days so many times for our family. My kids love helping me carry our prized blanket and I love letting them.
