Have you ever been to a “My Favorite Things” girls party? They are the best! Ladies come together and each takes a couple minutes to tell about their latest favorite things. It’s so fun to hear about all the things people, like you, are passionate about. The best part? I always come home with some fun, new ideas I want to try out! We want to have regular Favorite Things parties on our website- on Fridays! So, these are my faves I’ve been thinking about this week!

Easy Salad Add-Ins We Love Lately:
- Slivered Almonds – a big bag is just ten bucks at Costco right now! I’m going back for another to throw in the freezer!
- Red Onion- from our garden, that is one veggie that is worth growing yourself- they are soooo sweet!
- “The Usuals”: cherry tomatoes, avacado, craisins, frozen peas, long slices of carrots with a potato peeler.
It doesn’t take much to make a salad delicious- just pick two or three add-ins and this dressing will do the rest! We’ve also tried the Opa Avocado Cilantro dressing and loved that too!
Antique Glass Hummingbird Feeder.
My husband decided he wanted a hummingbird feeder and we decided we could have our girls earn it! They did a couple age-appropriate jobs around the house and soon- the feeder was installed. It is so, so cute to see my kids’ eyes light up when the hummingbirds come around. I love the vintage glass, and it was under twenty bucks on Amazon– same price as the plastic varieties!
We just screwed it right into the stucco by hand… ok when I say “we”, I mean my husband! Here’s a screw if you want one of those too!
New Fave Show
My husband and I just discovered a show that melts our hearts into a puddle! I TOTALLY recommend “Turning Point” for it’s excellent entertainment value, plus it inspires watchers everywhere to be a better person! This TV show features a real person, and takes you through their story of how they are making a huge impact on other’s lives and then tells you about their “turning point” or what made them decide to be where they are now! As much as I love (used to love, and now, just “appreciate”) the Bachelor… this is real, true reality TV that uplifts! You can watch Turning Point whenever you like on byutv.com or on BYUTV on your cable or satellite service as well. We just watched the episode of Whitney Elementary- fantastic! Practical Organizing For the School Year with 3 Girls.
My last favorite thing of this week is the fact that I got a little organizing bug and did the girl’s hair drawers (one in the kitchen and one in their bathroom) all cleaned out and ready for rushed school mornings! I used items I had on hand- so these may not be pinterest-worthy pics, but these drawers are functional and that makes me happy. That’s why they’re a “Friday Fave”!
My friend texted me about a great Amazon find on bows, (forty of them for $12.99!) that she loves and so we ordered some too! I have three girls, so we need options for every color. This organizer keeps the bow display simple and ready! These are the little flower ones I’m really happy I bought (I got two sets for pigtails), but the ribbon bow ones I got… I wish I woulda looked a little more, and got these instead- they look “fluffier” and AKA cuter! So get those ones and tell me how you like them! Either way- it’s handy to have lots of colorful bows on hand, AND my kids have had a ton of fun sorting and clipping them to things! Win!
Hope this week has been excellent for you, fellow Momma! Have a great weekend!
