Friday Favorites Lipstick Review

Lipstick Review and Giveaway!!

Have you ever wanted something to work out so badly, but you just couldn’t get it to? That was my dilemma with lipstick. Let me start off by saying I never wear a ton of make-up and I am no expert with cool make-up techniques…at all! But lipstick is easy to apply- right? In this post I will compare three popular brands of lipstick: Too Faced, Mac and LipSense (by Senegence) and my experiences with them and the lipstick I fell in love with!

The first lipstick I dove into was the Melted Brand by Too Faced. This brand is super awesome. I love my Chocolate Bar eye shadow palette from Too Faced, it was one of the first pallets I experimented with. I bought Melted Brand after asking a good friend what she uses on her lips. She is a make-up genius and everything looks great on her. I tried Too Faced lipstick and immediately liked that it was a liquid and great color. Major con: I have dry lips and this lipstick clumped off after a very short stent. I wanted to love Too Faced lipstick, but I found myself only wearing this brand a few times because the lipstick got splotchy after an hour or so.

The second lipstick I tried was Mac. I follow quite a few other bloggers and one blogger I follow wears Mac and she always looks amazing! She has the funnest colors and finds awesome deals. She posted a really good deal for Mac lipstick awhile back so I decided to try it out. I LOVED the color of the lipstick (long-legged and fabulous). The MAC lipstick I tried was a traditional tube of lipstick. The problem I have with this brand is the lipstick exfoliates off and smudges a lot. The lipstick seemed to get on everything (mugs, kids faces). I wore Mac’s lipstick a few times, but eventually gave up and went back to regular chap stick.

The last lipstick I tried was LipSense. Let me tell you- this stuff has changed my life (I’ll explain later). The first couple times I wore it, I also had a trouble with exfoliation. I came to realize I wasn’t applying the lipstick correctly and my lips needed a time to get used to the product.  Come to find out, a lot of people are dependent on wax based products for their lips so when someone starts using LipSense they go through what is called the exfoliation process.

LipSense works to exfoliate off the dead skin where the previous wax built on your lips. After a few days of wearing the product consistently, the exfoliation stops and the beauty of the product comes to life. My favorite thing about this product is that it is kiss proof…say what?! I have three kids 4 and under, all day long I am kissing their cute faces. I also like to kiss my husband every now and then too (jk all the time hehe). With Two Faced and Mac lipsticks- the color always left kiss marks on my kids cheeks. Although adorable, when those lipstick kiss marks are intentional, that lipstick is painful to rub off kids cheeks and downright annoying to the husband. Therefore this problem with smudging lipsticks means I hardly wore anything on my lips other than waxy chap stick.

Friday Favorites Lipstick Review

The next best feature about LipSense is that it is smudge proof!! It literally does not smudge off on things while drinking cups, putting on your clothes, etc. The reason? LipSense chemically bonds to your lips and then becomes sealed in with the moisturizing gloss. It is not a stain!! This lipstick is formulated to really stay on and last up to 18 hours! I have been wearing LipSense for a while now. I put it on in the morning when I get ready and it stays on all day with no reapplication!! Ain’t nobody got time to reapply a million times throughout the day!

The next awesome part about LipSense is that it has healed and hydrated my lips tremendously! I mentioned before, I always had dry lips that peeled and cracked (thanks to living in the desert my whole life). Because of this, I couldn’t get other lipstick brands to stay on. The LipSense color, combined with the hydrating gloss, works to heal and hydrate the lips making them healthier than ever! On the days I don’t wear a LipSense color, I still wear the gloss or moisturizing balm to give my lips the moisture they need!

Friday Favorites Lipstick Review

I never thought I would be a lipstick person, especially someone who wears it everyday!! LipSense totally changed me! It’s also helpful that there are over 70 shades of amazing colors!! Besides the fact that LipSense by Senegence has changed my lipstick wearing life, it has also changed my actual life. I loved the product so much that I decided to become a distributor a few months ago. All I do is share how much I love the products, show how they really work, and present information about the products. I started making money right away, have started building a team, and have made a bunch of awesome connections with other distributors!

I want all of you to have the chance to try out the amazing-ness of LipSense so we are doing a “Starter Kit” Giveaway!! This is a $55 value! The LipSense Starter kit comes with a color of your choice, glossy gloss, and remover. LipSense has a two-part application process. You apply three layers of the color (letting each color dry 20-30 seconds in between) then apply glossy gloss over the color to seal in the color and hydrate your lips. The remover can be used to take the color off or to correct any mistakes if any are made when applying.

I know i’m not the only one feeling this way with the impending presidential announcement... so how do we handle feeling off, anxious or depressed? One of the best things you can do -right this moment- give a hug. Cuddle close to a loved one and hold one another. Breathe deep. And hug for another breath. And hopefully you’ll slowly feel that anxiety release. And feel free to cuddle longer. 😘
