Awhile back, I was stuck in a routine where I wasn’t doing a lot of physical activity. I made lots of excuses. I was busy, tired or I didn’t want to mess up the schedule etc, etc. but these were just excuses. We live by the beach and my husband recommended I run by the beach after school drop offs. At first, I made the excuse that it would mess with the baby’s nap schedule then I figured, “What the heck? I will put the nap off by thirty minutes.”
Running by the beach with my kiddies became a great way to start my day! I drop one kid off at school, strap the other two in the stroller, load up snacks, listen to my book on tape and run! Yes, the beach is an amazing setting and any time I get some physical activity, no matter what it is, my day is so much better! There are days I workout at home in my living room or walk to the park and run around with the kids. Lately, one of our favorites is having a dance party (usually before bed) to tire the kids out.
Anything to get your heart rate going and your muscles moving is better for your overall health and well-being. I discovered, I am much more patient with my kids when I workout that day! Happy mom equals happy kids!
This week’s Motivational Monday is to encourage us mother’s to get up, get moving and get your heart rate going!
