When my husband and I walked through the home we currently live in, I truly loved it. I simply had one concern- the wooden stairs. We were moving from a one level rambler with a little one year old who wasn’t accustomed to stairs. I worried that the harsh tumble of unforgiving hard floors would do some serious damage to our baby. With makeshift blocking and watching our son well, we only had one minor tumble from a few of the stairs. When we had another baby, we bought a gate for the top and continuously built blockades for the bottom of the stairs. So when Stair Barrier reached out to us we were thrilled to give this product a try!
I love how versatile the Stair Barrier is! Regardless of the stairs you have in your home, the Stair Barrier can be secured in between two banisters, or in our case- a banister and the wall. The installation of our barrier was fairly simple and took my husband thirty minutes and a few tools to screw the brackets in the wall securely and it looks great.
For our stairs, the Stair Barrier connects to the wall on one side and to the banister on the other with three clips. The simplicity of the clips around the banister are easy and quick to secure, even my six year old can clip and unclip them when asked. I have even clipped two out of the three, because yes, I’m lazy like that. Or am I just efficient? (; Let’s go with the latter.
I love how nice our stairs look and this barrier truly works with the high quality upholstery fabric. No more stressing about leaving the one year old downstairs for a minute if I forgot something upstairs. Or going to the garage without worrying she might climb up the stairs and tumble down. I didn’t have to compromise on the style or design of our downstairs. The Stair Barrier looks great when it’s functioning or rolled to the side when they baby is asleep.
Warning- If you have to install the stair barrier on one side of the wall, you can not pull the Stair Barrier out without unscrewing the bolts. If you are installing the Stair Barrier with two banisters, this is not an issue.
