Jordyn’s Fave:
If you haven’t already figured it out…we love bows and headbands at our house. Free Babes handmade bows are cute bows for your free-spirited little girl. These bows are made from high quality Liberty of London prints and other cotton fabrics that compliment the color found in nature all around us. Their collection includes: sailor bows, school girl bows, and mini sailor bows. Hillary, the founder of this company, started Free Babes because she is passionate about raising independent free-spirited daughters.
I love how the company encourages our daughters to express their true selves, something us moms at Mommy Convos strive to do with our own free-spirited and spunky daughters. When my little girl wants to pick out her own bows, she often picks out Free Babes bows because they have a unique style, and are fun to look at. We love that the bows go with a variety of different outfits.
Anxious to get your hands on one of these bows? Good news for you!! Free babes has collaborated with us to give one lucky winner a $50 shop credit to their cute shop!! Favorite apps I can’t live without (that you probably haven’t heard of):
Oh smartphones… So much greatness, so little time… I know I spend more time on my shiny Galaxy than I should, but sometimes I just get sucked in! So… After months and months of hoping and searching for the perfect app to help me with this problem… I found it!
“AppDetox” for Android and IOS. It is a-maz-ing to help with phone addiction. I can set whatever rules I want for myself: like right now these are the rules I have set up:
- Allow 15 minutes a day for me to use Instagram, Facebook. Pinterest I give myself 20 minutes ’cause ya know, sometimes I just wanna binge on there! 😉 It gives me a warning when I have one minute left, and then it kicks me out and I can’t get back in unless I pause the rule. LOVE it. This works really great for me! Most days I am better off keeping it under those limits, so when my time is up, it’s time for me to move on!
- Sundays I want to give myself a break from social media, so I’ve blocked all those social apps for the whole day. Full disclosure here- sometimes I break the rules 😉
- After 10:30pm everynight, Instagram and Facebook are no longer allowed. My judgement gets cloudy after about 10 anyway and I just had a harder time getting off the later it gets, so it serves as a reminder for me to get some sleep!
Other things I love about this app: when it kicks you out it, it gives you messages like this: and this:
The sayings make me lighten up a bit, even though I just got kicked out of something I was enjoying! At least this app is nice about it! I’ve tried screen time, quality time, socials addict… and prob about 5 others… none of them have come even close to working as well as this one does for me! If this sounds a little rude for your taste, booting you off and then not letting you back in, the rules are sooo customizable so you can totally set it up for your preference!
I love the “White Noise Free” app. It’s seamless, easy on the eyes and ears, and I can drown out kids day or night with my favorite- brown noise! Or vice versa 😉 The reason it made my list of “favorite apps” is because it bought me a few glorious Sunday naps that would not have otherwise happened!
“Overdrive” allows you to listen to any library book that’s available through your local library, on your phone, without even having to step foot in the library! For free too! I’m currently working on a new post discussing how YOU can utilize “Overdrive” and “Podcast Addict” so, subscribe to our emails if you want a notification when that one comes out!
“Group Me” has been a lifesaver for group texts! If you have family, sports, or work group texts that get all unorganized, then “Group Me” to the rescue! It sounded kinda pointless to me at first, but it just makes group texts easy to locate and return to, and I like that I make the notification sound different than my normal texts to differentiate. Not sure where Mommy Convos would be without it!
Happy Friday ladies! Go out there and be the best mom you can be! Hope these apps help you like they help me 🙂
