Potty Training Pants that ROCK

in Friday Favorites, Our Favorites on 26/05/17

What would you say if I told you I found some potty training pants that work, look cute and are good for the environment?? I hope you’re thinking, tell me more! Guess what, I have news. The greatest potty training pants are from Bambino Mio and they are ADORABLE!

First, a back story on our potty training experiences.

Potty training is a crap shoot. For the love, why is it so hard on all parties involved and draining?? My little girl potty trained really well, but it was still super stressful! My little boy is a whole different story. We are currently on attempt number four for potty training our little man. The first time we tried, it was purely out of me trying to get him out of diapers before baby sister was born. He showed almost zero interest and had about thirteen accidents the first day. I quickly decided he was not ready. The next time we tried potty training my husband and I had time off work and we had a long break. Once again, he had no interest in potty training and he never went potty.

The third time we attempted potty training was during a holiday weekend when we had extra days off work. I literally sat next to my child for over an hour trying to get him to pee in the potty. All I wanted was for him to have some success so he knew he could do it. I took him off the toilet (after over an hour of sitting) and about five minutes later, he peed in his underwear. Ugh.

Finally, over Easter weekend we tried again. I got his super adorable Bambino Mio training pants in the mail a few days earlier so I decided to pull them out to motivate him with cool underwear. He was excited to sport the cool designs. New underwear was incentive, but since it was Easter weekend, we had LOTS of candy at our disposal. After all the Easter Egg hunts my husband told my son he couldn’t have any of the candy until he went potty. This child loves candy and treats. And…he finally went! We showered him with treats letting him choose whatever he wanted. He was SO happy he went potty, but mostly because it was difficult for him to sit and stare at his candy.

With a happy, sugar rushed child that had some cool new potty pants, and some potty training success, we were all on cloud nine! So, more about the training pants.

Pros

bambino mio

What I love about Bambino Mino Potty Training Pants is:  they feel like underwear. But, the pants feature a concealed water resistant layer and inner pad that keep accidents contained. In essence, the child still feels when they are wet, but parents doesn’t have a giant mess to clean up. They are the perfect transition from diaper to underwear. My little boy loved the rocket ships on his undies and liked feeling big. I liked not cleaning up puddles of pee on the floor.

The Bambino Mio Potty Training Pants promote independence because they pull-up easily. Another favorite feature: machine washable (hallelujah) and the material is soft and comfortable for little bottoms. Like I mentioned before, these training pants are also great for the environment since they are reusable! And….of course they save you money because you buy a few pairs of training pants and that’s it. No mad dashes to the store for disposable training pants over and over again.

Cons

There aren’t many cons to these training pants, except one: leakage. One morning right after my little man woke up, he had an accident and there was some leakage on the floor. I wouldn’t consider this a big con because in the morning, there is always a lot of pee. The training pants caught most of the pee, but it did leak. There was a small mess to clean up, but without that water resistant layer, there would have been more.

The only other complaint about the training pants is the bulk. Compared to regular underwear, the Bambino Milo pants are a tad bit bulky. I believe the bulk comes from the water resistant layer, therefore the bulk is totally worth it, just a little bigger than regular undies.

Conclusion

These Potty training pants are the bomb dot com. We really loved the cute designs and how they help battle against the cursed accidents that come with potty training. Anything that helps make the potty training process a little easier, aaaand less messy, is a win in my eyes!

If you are like me and “just can’t even” with the clean up and messes sometimes, these training pants will help. Check out their super cute prints here.
