My life has suddenly become jam-packed with many places to be and places to go for every person in my family. I’m sure many of you mother’s can relate with being the taxi driver for your family. I was delighted to receive Corie Clark’s Purposeful Planner, the lovely Morgan planner because it was meant to be! There are only a few cons with the Morgan planner, but several pros I LOVE.
Cons: I only have two cons. 1.) The biggest con- the size. Man, this planner is massive! And if I place it in my purse, this planner is the only item coming. 2.) I wish there was something to keep track of the place of my planner- now I know there is! There are bands! Sweet.
Pros: The look. They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, but admit it- you have. When I opened this darling black and white box- my first thought was adorable! The golden corner protectors, gold spirals and tabs- ooh-la-la!
I don’t know Corie Clark, the creator of this planner, but this personalized note makes me want to know her. She prayed to know what to put in this planner for me- a busy mom. And then, this adorable author says each section has a purpose and to take each section of the planner seriously. Okay- I’m listening and obeying.
Monthly goals. Seeing the way my month lays out helps this overwhelmed mother calm down.
Daily Goals. There are three main goals you make for the day. Seeing the three goals you want to accomplish for the day is essential to having a productive day.
Hourly goals. I love how detailed this planner lets you be about your day. Although if you notice on my planner- I have designated several hours for sleep, because sleep is important to me! My little boy goes to afternoon preschool and this planner lets me see where I’m spending my time throughout the day. This planner makes sure I make the most of the time when little man is in school and my other little one is napping. At the end of the day I can look at my planner and see those goals checked off and know I had a productive day. That feels good!
Take care of mama goals:
Health, Water, 15 minutes, Brain Dump, Menu, Retail Therapy– all of these sections are in the planner for each day- and I use them all! These sections remind us busy mom’s to: care about our health, drink water (I need to get better at this!), write down our to-do-list, grocery shopping list, figure out a menu for the night and lastly a 15-minute section that suggests a spot in the house to clean. Visually seeing all of these goals written down helps me feel less stressed about my life and then lets me reflect on my to-do-list later.
There is always such a fear of the unknown and forgetting something important. Seeing everything written down for the month, week and the day helps my family and I be on the same page.
The Purposeful Planner by Corie Clark is a schedule saver, brain organizer and calmed my stressed heart. I would highly recommend purchasing this planner for yourself if you too, find yourself a little too busy for your forgetful mom-brain to keep up with and making your life full of purpose once more.
I love this planner so much, but my first impression was mixed. The box is perfect and the look of the planner is adorable. The only thing that threw me off a little was the size. I previously had a pocket sized planner that fits well in my purse so I wasn’t sure if I could give that up. When I started using the planner, my doubts were washed away. Now I understand! There are so many important sections that aren’t found in “regular” planners.
One of my VERY favorites parts about the planner is the brain dump section. As moms, it seems like there are always a million lists going on in our heads. I get stressed when I think about the many, many tasks I need to do. These tasks can range from texting a friend, writing a blog post, or taking treats to a soccer game. The brain dump lets me dump everything that’s on my mind so I don’t forget things and can come back later to refresh.
The title of the planner is the “Purposeful Planner”. I think this title is perfect in the fact that with this planner you are planning with a purpose. There are not only daily earthly tasks we should do, but there are also spiritual tasks we should do. I love how this planner reminders us to pray and how to keep the spiritual side of each of us strong. These little reminders are so helpful!
Another favorite section of the planner is the water portion. This section is at the top of the page so you can check off how much water you have consumed that day. Umm- hello! As a busy mom (like most of you) I always forget to drink water. When I remember to drink water my cup is quickly hijacked by a tiny human who is suddenly thirsty. Staying hydrated is so important! I love how this planner has a reminder to drink my water daily in order to stay healthy.
This planner kept me organized and I love it! I am a planner myself…not like the book, but I like to make and have plans. I love how with this planner I am planning with a purpose. It will not only help me feel less frazzled on the outside, but the planner helps me stay organized spiritually as well, which is the most important. xoxo, Jordyn
