Drink More Water Challenge

As moms our needs tend to come last. Need to go to the bathroom while out in public? Hold it. This goes along with drinking water as well. It seems every time I get myself a drink of water, it is forgotten. A kid suddenly needs me and then the other kid discovers my drink and slurps it down and then empty before I can get to it- typical.
By the time I realize I have not drank enough, my kids are finally in bed. Which is probably why I feel so tired (along with the four hours of sleep last night and chasing kids around all day). I finally start to drink a few big sips before bedtime, but then I’m up five times during the night to pee…ugh.
I’ve had this struggle far too many times. Baby bandits hijack my water. Or a kid tips over my glass. As hard as I try, I can’t seem to get enough hydration throughout the day. Whenever I tell my husband I’m super tired or have a headache, the first thing he asks is: “how much water did you drink?” I recall my day to reply with a shameful “not enough”. On the days when I do drink enough, I feel such a difference in the way I feel throughout the day until the end of the day.
We mamas need to take care of ourselves! We need to take care of ourselves so we can care for the little ones we love most! This Motivational Monday I’m challenging you to drink at least 64 oz of water just today. Already accomplishing this goal? Then your next challenge is to drink 64 oz every day this week! Remember, 64 oz is the minimum water intake, but ideally a gallon of water would be the most beneficial (126oz) in a day.
