Baby Faves Perfect for Any Baby Registry or Wishlist!
Every time I turn around it seems like there is a new baby invention! My oldest daughter is only three, but it seems like there are so many cool things that have come out or that I have newly discovered even since then! I am a self-proclaimed shopaholic. Although I always enjoy a good traditional shopping trip to the mall, I have a serious love for shopping and researching products online. I have done a lot of “ scientific research” aka endless hours of adoring baby things online, in order to formulate an awesome list of some of my baby faves! This list will include: must-haves for baby, the most helpful baby products, and some products I’ve read reviews on that I’m so excited to try with baby number three.
Must-Haves/Can’t Live Without
Muslin Swaddles
I love muslin swaddles! they are so breathable and the perfect size to swaddle new babies. My first baby loved to be swaddled, my second not so much. They are so helpful with keeping babies snug like they were used to in the womb and they help with back sleeping. Two if my favorites are:
High-contrast, black and white patterns enhance baby’s vision and stimulate brain development. Most importantly, muslin is known as a safer alternative to other fabrics to protect your baby from overheating and reducing the risk of SIDS. The material is lightweight, breathes well and helps to regulate your baby’s body temperature.
At a generous 47×47 inches, this Modern Burlap will grow with your baby for years. Uses include a floortime play rug, stroller cover, nursing shield, lightweight blanket, change mat, burp cloth and can also be hung on the wall as a tapestry or used as a scarf or sarong when your kids are big!
Modern Burlap offers the cutest designs with choices like the calendar blanket, scripture quotes, sayings, and patterned swaddles. I am so excited to use my modern burlap calendar swaddle to document the day of my baby’s birth.
I don’t know why or how, but baby nails are so sharp! Scratch mittens saved us with our first two kids who wore these all the time to protect their cute faces from spazzy hands with sharp nails.
This stroller is AMAZING! The link above is for the stroller with the second seat. This stroller can have one seat or two. The reason I decided to get this stroller (after much research) was because it has the option to be a triple stroller. How you ask? There is an addition you can purchase, a glider board and put it on the back for the oldest child. We got this stroller last November after going through our fair share of single and double strollers. I read reviews on this one and decided to give it a shot. We love it! It pushes smoothly and has so many options for functionality for all different family sizes.
Vtech Safe and Sound Baby Monitor
This baby monitor has been such a life saver in our house! I purchased this monitor with my first baby and have purchased an additional camera when my second baby came. I am the kind of mom that feels the need to check on my kids all the time so this monitor makes it possible to check on the sleeping kids without going in their rooms and disturb them. I also love that I can check on all of my kids with the different cameras in their room with just one monitor- fantastic! Another feature I love about this monitor is it is NOT hooked up to wifi so there’s no chance of creepers creepin (this has always really freaked me out).
I love this diaper bag! I have two small children so a backpack diaper bag is a must! We tried a cheaper backpack, but it was too long and skinny and everything in the bag would get lost at the bottom. I love this diaper bag because it is wide. It also has a lot of pockets, including a front pocket that I have designated as the mom pocket. Seriously, this bag is super cute and functional. What more can you ask for?
This little contraption literally saved us! We went through a period of time after my second baby was born where neither kid would sleep. I seriously thought it would be the death of me. I purchased an app on the Ipad that played white noise and that helped my oldest not hear the baby wake up. I then discovered this 9BRAND machine and after reading the reviews I decided to get it. I then ordered a second. My kids use these in their rooms and it is so helpful because they don’t wake each other up in the morning and our family isn’t tip-toeing in the kitchen or watching a muted TV in the living room. I know we could not survive without these!!
Products I’m excited to try with baby #3:
We love Maxi Cosi at our house! Both my toddlers have Maxi Cosi car seats and they love them. My two-year-old was not a fan of the car seat before we got him and his sister the Maxi Cosi Pria 70 convertible car seat. Now he falls asleep in his car seat all the time, he loves to put his sippy and snacks in the cup holder and both kids seem super comfortable. I am so excited to try the infant seat with baby number three. I mean look at all that cushion! I wish they made it in my size!
I am SO excited to try this product! I can’t tell you how many times my arm has felt like it is about to fall off while carrying a child in an infant seat. My second baby was a serious CHUNK! It was so hard to lug him around and also hold hands with big sister without feeling like my arm was going to break. I discovered this product on Instagram and I instantly fell in love. It is a fashionable cushion that wraps around the infant car seat handle to provide comfort when carrying an infant in the car seat. It’s going to be a game changer.
I admit I kind of splurged on this product. The bouncer we had for our first two kids was a hand-me-down from my niece. It worked fine, but not as good as this bad boy will work. The Mamaroo can be hooked up to blue tooth so you can essentially change the speed and program from your phone or tablet. This bouncer features five different motions including: car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock a bye, and wave. The motions are aimed to mimic the way parents move when holding their baby. Since this is my third child, there are going to be a lot of times where I will need to put the baby down to attend to the other to kids, I’m praying this product will be the extra set of hands I will need with three kiddies.
We plan to have new baby sleep next us in a bassinet for the first six-ish months. Both of my kids slept in their (once again, hand me down) bassinet until their were seven months. This bassinet swivels 360 degrees to be right next to the bed, the side wall lowers to make it easy to take baby out for night feedings (game changer/back saver!), it also feature breathable mesh walls that make it safe for baby and helps the parents see the baby easier. It also has a night light, music, other noises, vibrations, and a nursing timer. Again, this is another purchasing splurge, but I think it will be well worth it!
-Milk Snob
Having two toddlers and a newborns means we will be out and about a lot. This means we will need to do some feeding on the run. I am so excited for this nursing cover because it can be used as an infant car seat cover or nursing cover. It offers 360 coverage and is a great way to protect your baby against harsh sunlight, wind and unwanted onlookers when used as a car seat cover. It’s also super cute!!
As a breastfeeding mom who plans to go back to work after baby is born, pumping and milk storage is very important. I discovered this milk storage kit from Kiinde and I am so excited to try it out! This kit allows you to pump, store, organize, warm, and feed using the same pouch. The Kiinde Twist feeding system completely eliminates the need to transfer precious milk from bottles to bags and back again (I have cried over spilt breast milk!). This starter kit gives you everything you need to get started with the Twist feeding system. The kit contains: Twist Pouches (x20), all Direct-Pump adapters (for all major pump brands), Keeper Breast milk Organizer (x1), Squeeze Natural Feeding Bottle (x2), Slow Flow Active Latch Nipple with Case (x1), Medium Flow Active Latch Nipple with Case (x1), Fast Flow Active Latch Nipple with Case (x1), and Nipple Brushes (x2).
I am one of those moms who worries about EVERYTHING! I swear my husband is always secretly rolling his eyes at me. I am a checker. I check on my kids all the time. With newborns, it’s quite ridiculous. When I heard about the Owlet Monitor I knew I HAD to have one. I am so excited to use this product for our newborn. Owlet is a monitor that is designed to sound an alert if your child’s heart rate dips too low, rises too high, or if their oxygen level drops below a preset threshold. This alert strategy was determined by a team of pulse oximetry specialists, pediatricians, neonatologists and pulmonologists. It is not a medical device, but more of a device to help with piece of mind for parents. It can be paired with your smart phone so it alerts you if the baby’s oxygen level or heart rate is not within the right level. The baby wears a wireless sock on their foot that monitors heart rate and oxygen levels and alerts are sent to the base and/or your smart phone. Their catch phrase is: “up all night so you don’t have to be.” Heavens bless you Owlet!
Like I stated before. I will soon have two toddlers and a newborn. We will be on the go a lot. After looking at a few different baby carriers, I fell in love with the Solly Baby wrap. This wrap is designed to keep you and baby close, but to also help mom have free hands. This is going to be a serious requirement with 3 kids. The Solly Baby wrap will allow us to be hands free and on the go.
Both of my toddlers were binkie babies. Ok, I admit it…my two-year-old still has his binkie… I am also a germaphobe so pacifier clips are a must! I found the cutest pacifier clips from Madeline’s Box on Instagram. These handmade flat braided leather or softy pacifier clips are so cute! They are multi-functional and can be attached to anything from babies’ teethers, toys, bottles, sippy cups, blankets, Solly wraps, car seats, strollers, swings, high chairs and any other baby item that has a hole or place to pull our clip through! So excited to keep babies’ things close by and off the germy floor!
K- I am totally going to have to get that noise machine! I like how simple it looks. great list Jordyn!
